Mallacoota Abalone Pearls Australia was borne in the turbulent sea off Gabo Island on the Wilderness Coast of Victoria. In these wild, pristine waters, our hand selected black lip abalone are sustainably cultivated to produce the ocean's most precious and unique Abalone Pearl gems.

Mallacoota Abalone Pearls Australia (MAPA) was founded by Mary and Gerry Menke.

Mary and Gerry began this endeavour with a passion to invent, perfect a way to grow and sustainably cultivate these rare natural pearls and grow a
sustainable aquaculture business.

Together they grew MAPA from an idea and pioneered Abalone Pearls to an award winning business focussed on sustainability and working harmoniously with
nature to produce the rarest of gems.

Today, MAPA hold the oldest sustainable offshore aquaculture site in Victoria, and are the only Abalone Pearl producers in Australia, adding to the exclusivity of
these rare natural abalone pearl gems.

Tragically in 2014, Mary and Gerry were killed on board MH17 over the Ukraine.

Mary and Gerry's memory lives on through their children who continue to locally produce these stunning rare Abalone Pearls in Mary and Gerry's glowing essence.
